Walking The Plank is a collective endeavour, and a work of love, run by a number of dedicated Snape/Harry fen. Our goal is to maintain an attractive, user-friendly archive that offers stories and art from a wide array of genres, and at all levels of ratings. We want this archive to be a great resource for readers, and a place where authors can share their work with other fen. See About WTP for more details about how the archive is owned and managed.Maintaining an archive like this requires volunteers. We're always looking for new fen to join us, who want to contribute their skills and time to keeping WTP vibrant and growing. We need people to fill both editorial and technical roles.
Submissions Moderators
Want to help approve and upload stories submitted by authors? The submissions moderators are the group who actually go through the content of all submitted stories and art, check them to make sure they meet our standards according to our submission rules, and then approve or reject it. For this job, we need people who have a good grasp of the rules for grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
Don't worry about the technical aspects: this is not a job that requires a great deal of tech expertise. We have a walkthrough so that people who don't have a lot of technical skills are able to be successful submissions mods, and other members of the team are always happy to answer questions.
The Technical Team
Or, want to help out with the tech end of things? The technical team are people who are skilled in coding and the operation of eFic, forums and websites. They advise on the feasibility of suggestions, and implement the decisions that are made about the look and operation of the site. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, or PHP a bonus.

Email the management group (at wtp.administration@gmail.com) with a discussion of what you'd like to do, and a description of your skills. We can put them to good use!
Conditions of Volunteering
Every volunteer who works for the site agrees to take on a responsibility, and that means they have obligations to the site, and to the WTP team. Every one of our volunteers agrees to abide by the following conditions, with some extra ones for members of the tech team, and the management group keeps an email record of their agreement.
1/ Tradescant will be a silent partner, who will step in only in the event of tensions riding high where it appears that WTP is at risk.
2/ The site is not personal property to be deleted. Any moderator or eventual site owner must agree to relinquish control and access to a member of the management group if they leave WTP.
3/ All volunteers must agree to use their site access only to undertake work in accordance with, and as directed by, the policies and procedures of the WTP policy group.
4/ All volunteers must agree to notify their intention of leaving the WTP team and agree not to attempt to access the site after they have ceased volunteer work for the site.
5/ Failure to abide by these conditions may result in the removal of access to any volunteer.
