Submission Rules
For assistance in uploading stories or art, please see our Upload FAQ, which includes step-by-step walkthroughs of the uploading process.

  1. All submitters agree, by submitting, to abide by the rules of the archive as posted. Stories will be read by moderators for spelling, grammar, and standard story formatting (e.g., paragraph returns, correct dialogue punctuation). UK and US spelling will be accepted. If necessary stories will be returned to the author for corrections and will then be reread upon resubmission. No more than three resubmissions for the same story will be allowed. If an archived story is later found to have errors, the story will be returned to the author for revision, with our apologies. There is no limit to the number of stories an author may submit, but all will be subject to moderators’ approval. We ask that authors have patience as we look at each submission.

  2. All artwork must be Snarry in content; it may not be Harry or Snape alone, unless there is a clear reference to either its companion piece, or a Snarry artwork that inspired it.

  3. Only the creator of the work may submit it.

  4. WTP does not accept Works in Progress.

  5. Stories must be submitted to the proper category -- fanfic, art, or meta.

  6. Titles, summaries, and art thumbnails must be kid friendly. No exceptions.

  7. "Please read", "Untitled", etc. are not acceptable titles or summaries.

  8. A number of authors have requested that fans refrain from writing fan fiction based on their work. Therefore submissions will not be accepted based on the works of P.N. Elrod, Raymond Feist, Terry Goodkind, Laurell K. Hamilton, Anne McCaffrey, Robin McKinley, Irene Radford, Anne Rice, and Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb.

  9. Actor/actress stories are not permitted...not even if they're visiting an alternate reality.

  10. Correct spelling, punctuation and grammar are expected of all stories submitted to this site. According to the submissions policy, the submission moderators reserve the right to reject submissions with a multitude of grammar and/or spelling errors.

  11. All stories and art must be rated correctly and have the appropriate warnings. All adult rated stories are expected to have warnings. After all, they wouldn't have that rating if there wasn't something to be warned about! The site administrators recognize that there is an audience for these stories, but please respect those who do not wish to read them by labeling them appropriately.

  12. Warnings are very important. Our volunteers come from all over the world. Australians can't read stories where a character under eighteen is sexually active. Some of our volunteers are squicked by non-con. It is necessary for you to warn appropriately - you don't want to be responsible for someone breaking the law.

  13. Stories with multiple chapters should be archived as such and NEVER as separate stories. Upload the first chapter of your story, then go to Manage Stories in your account to add additional chapters. If you have trouble with this, please contact the site administrator or ask a friend to help you.

  14. Please choose an appropriate spoiler warning for your story. Some people search by spoilers, and not everyone has finished the series. There are always new Harry Potter and Snarry lovers!

  1. There are a few items on the site that are not traditional, but are hosted offsite, and are embedded. These items are done by moderator upload only. To see the rules of embedding, there is more information here.

Submissions found to be in violation of these rules may be removed and the author's account suspended at the discretion of the site administrators and/or moderators. The site administrators reserve the right to modify these rules as needed.
