What are the ratings used on the site?
We use a very simple rating system on WTP. All work hosted here is rated:
No sex/violence
Some sex/violence
Explicit sex/violence
Because we have a simple ratings system, categories and warnings are very important.
What are the story classifications?
Stories are classified by categories, genres, and warnings. We have a comprehensive list of categories and warnings. It is part of our Submission Rules that all work is labelled appropriately, and if you submit work that is not labelled appropriately, it will be rejected by our Submissions Mods and the Management Team could decide to delete your account if you do not remember after warnings.
Warnings are very important. Our volunteers come from all over the world. Australians can't read stories where a character under eighteen is sexually active. Some of our volunteers are squicked by non-con. It is necessary for you to warn appropriately - you don't want to be responsible for someone breaking the law.
Help with editing your User Profile/Bio Information
LJ/IJ:
You only need to enter your username, not a full url. eg. If your journal is http://snapefan.livejournal.com/, just enter snapefan in the box. The same goes for Insane Journals.
Web Site and Other Website:
These are for your personal websites. You will need to enter a full url in these fields, eg. http://my.website.com/
AIM, Yahoo IM, Skype and GoogleTalk:
Just enter your username for these chat services in the textbox.
Deviant Art:
Again, you only need to enter your username and not a full url, same as with IJ or LJ.
Beta-reader:
Check "yes" if you would like to volunteer to be a beta-reader for one of our writers.
