Art Contest
Walking the Plank is looking for art for one of our permanent skins: Simplicity. If you're an artist and would like to see your work in our subtle, easy-to-read skin, consider submitting an entry!Process
All qualifying entries will be presented to WTP's submissions moderators, who will select three to four semi-finalists from those we feel best suit the Simplicity skin. Our users will then have the opportunity to test drive each of the semi-final entries and vote for their favourite. The winning submission will be incorporated into the final skin.
About Simplicity
As the name suggests, Simplicity is WTP's calm, simple environment. While Seasonal is bold and flashy and ever-changing, Simplicity caters to the users who want a more subdued reading experience, but who don't like the austerity of Subtextual. Entries chosen for the semi-final round will be inviting but not overpowering.
Rules
1. The art must include both Snape and Harry.
2. The art must be rated PG-13 or lower.
3. The art must be received by June 5th, 2007.
4. Entries should be in colour, though they may be monochrome (i.e., a sepia-tinted pencil drawing). Keep the Simplicity theme in mind! Eye-popping entries may be invited back for the Seasonal skin, but aren't suitable for this contest.
5. The art must be unpublished; we're looking for new art.
6. The art must conform to the specs below.

Your art should fill this template (800 x 150 pixels). The grey WTP logo is for layout only -- it should not actually appear in your submission. On the site, the logo is a separate floating file that moves according to the width of the browser window. As some people have smaller screens, the logo will sometimes overlap the header art. The template shows how far we expect the logo to overlap. This area should be filled, but nothing important, such as a face, should fall under the logo.
Save your submission as a jpg file and send it to wtp.technical@gmail.com. So we don't have 20 files all called wtp.jpg, please call the file yourname.jpg. Please use the subject ART CONTEST, and include the name you prefer in the email.
Terms
By submitting a piece to Walking the Plank's art contest you agree that:
a) the work submitted is your own;
b) WTP may host the artwork for as long as the site exists, though we may remove the artwork upon the artist's request;
c) you will not post the artwork anywhere but your own personal website or blog;
d) you will allow WTP to make small changes to the artwork for the purpose of incorporating it into the skin design (the technical team will contact you regarding changes other than minor size adjustments and feathering the right edge into the rest of the banner).
